A beloved Vermont Stage tradition, Winter Tales is a lively seasonal celebration that brings together stories, music, and community in the heart of winter. Patti Casey is back with a talented ensemble of local artists for our annual special event filled with humor, heart, and seasonal cheer. Whether you return every year or are joining us for the first time, Winter Tales is a joyful opportunity to gather together to share stories.

Last year’s call for stories went so well that we’re once again inviting our audience to add their voices to Winter Tales. But this year, there’s a twist: we’re looking for stories that will make us laugh.
Tell us about a holiday celebration that went hilariously wrong, an eccentric family tradition, a childhood misadventure, the indignities of a Vermont winter, or one of those moments that was perhaps embarrassing at the time but has become funnier with every retelling.
Story length: 1,500–1,700 words
Submission deadline: November 13
Selected stories may be lightly edited in collaboration with our team and performed onstage by professional Vermont Stage artists. Selected writers will also receive complimentary tickets to the show.
